Sunday School begins for the new year with Rally Day September 9th at 9am

Sunday school classes offered through St. Andrew United Methodist Church

All Sunday school programs are set to begin Sunday, September 13. The Sunday School hour is 9-10 am. Preschool through 6th grade will focus on faith-based learning. Students in grades 7-12 will focus on Video driven group discussions on faith.

CHRISTIAN COFFEES (Special Advent Edition)

Sundays 9:00 am in Old Fellowship Hall. Each Sunday morning we exmine and discuss the scriptures which are the basis for the sermon of Sunday Services. Coffee, tea and bagels are provided in a relaxed setting, as we study scriptures and reflections for the Advent season through guided discussion, based on the Mosaic Holy Bible.

Welcome Back To Sunday School!

The Sunday school team of St. Andrew looks forward to another great year of working with your children. The curriculum “Rock Solid” will again be used this year with ages 4 through sixth grade, while the older students will be working with a video driven format which will lead into group discussions each week.

As is the tradition, the first Sunday of each month will focus on our food pantry here at St. Andrew. On these weeks your children are invited to bring in non-perishable food items for the pantry which will help alleviate hunger in our community. As a Sunday school group we will be picking a mission project and will spend the year working to achieve our goal.

As the mom of two I realize that the school year starts with what seems like a never ending pile of forms and information sheets. However, it is of vital importance that we have an emergency form on file for each child participating in our Sunday school program. Not only does this keep your kids safe in the event of an unforeseen emergency, but it helps us meet a Safe Sanctuaries requirement set by the United Methodist conference. I ask that sometime over the next week you take a moment and fill out the emergency forms given to your child and return them next week to your child’s Sunday school teacher.

And lastly, although it seems far away, a program has been carefully chosen for our December Christmas pageant. On Sunday, December 13^th the Sunday school kids will present Celeste Clydesdale’s Miracle on Main Street. If your child would like a speaking part in this year’s pageant please acquire a permission slip from you child's teacher, complete it and return it to the Sunday school teachers by September 27^th. The pageant is a gift given by the Sunday school kids to the congregation of our church. All that is required to participate in the pageant is a spirit of giving. However, please understand that we do have a limited number of speaking parts and that asking for a part does not insure a speaking part will be available. I do promise to do our best to make sure that every child who wants to participate will get a chance. All kids’ ages 4 through Middle school will be a part of the chorus, so if acting isn’t their thing we still have a place for them in the pageant.

The staff at St. Andrew is always on hand and willing to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have during the year, so feel free to introduce yourself. Again, we look forward to meeting and working with all of your children and are confident we have a successful year ahead of us.
